I sketched this tower in 2020, drawn to its commanding presence and disciplined verticality. Located within the Panch Haud Mission complex in Guruwar Peth, Pune, the Bell Tower rises approximately 130–135 feet above the surrounding urban fabric, standing out as a striking red-brick landmark.
Designed in a Gothic architectural style, its pointed detailing and strong vertical rhythm make it visible from a considerable distance. The tower houses a rare arrangement of eight bells, adding to its distinct architectural character.
Sketching the Bell Tower was an exercise in understanding proportion, scale, and craftsmanship. Beyond its height and form, it represents a strong colonial architectural legacy, quietly asserting its presence amid the dense fabric of old Pune.
